Make a video call on Google Nest Hub Max

The Google Nest Hub Max is a smart assistant with a large 10” screen. Smart assistant devices are designed to answer questions and perform tasks using your voice. One of the great features of the Google Nest Hub Max is that it allows you to make video calls to your loved ones. Video calls allow you to see the person you are talking to, no matter where you are in the world! During this lesson we will take you through the steps on how to start a video call using two apps: Google Duo and Zoom.

How to make a video call using Google Duo

To start a video call on a Google Nest Hub Max, you can do so using voice controls. This means all you have to do is tell Google who you want to call.

You can simply say “Hey Google, make a video call to _________ on Duo” (say the name of the person you would like to call if you have their contact information saved OR say their phone number) The device will then start dialing.

If you would like to use touch controls to start a video call, here’s how you can do that:

Step 1: Using the touch screen, swipe from right to left to the page titled Communicate.

Step 2: Tap on the option titled Household Contacts. Once you find the person you would like to call, tap on the video camera icon next to the person’s name. The device will then start dialing.

How to make a video call using Zoom

If you prefer to use Zoom to have video calls with your loved ones, you can do this with your Google Nest Hub! To start a video call using Zoom, simply use the voice commands listed below:
