What’s in the box of an Apple computer?

Before we start setting up your new Apple computer, we first want to go through what comes in the box. Below are the components that come with an iMac and a MacBook.

iMac

Monitor

Apple iMac

The monitor is the screen where you will see everything you are doing on your iMac. Since this is an all-in-one computer the computer is inside the monitor so a computer tower will not come in the box.

Magic keyboard and mouse

Apple Magic keyboard and white Magic mouse.

The magic mouse and keyboard are wireless. They connect to the iMac via Bluetooth but they do need to be charged, which is what the USB-C to lightning cord is for.

Power cord

In order for the iMac to turn on and work it needs to be plugged into power. The end with the prong plugs into the wall outlet or power outlet, and the other end plugs into the monitor.

Power adapter

White power adapter.

The power adapter plugs into a wall outlet or power bar. This is what is used with the USB-C lightning cable shown below to charge your Magic keyboard and mouse when their batteries are low.
