Mail App Overview

So far we have discussed how to communicate using your iPhone through phone calls, video chats and messaging. Now we want to discuss how you can send emails from your iPhone. Email (short for Electronic Mail) has become a widely popular mode of communication as it allows us to send messages, documents and photos to people over the internet. And you can do this from anywhere in the world. Before we discuss how to use the Mail app, let’s take a look at this quick overview.

What is the Mail App?

The Mail app on iOS is a preloaded app that allows you to add your email accounts and send them directly from your phone. One of the great things about the Mail app is that you can add multiple accounts. So if you have more than one email address, you can add all of them and keep track of all of your emails in on place. Below is a photo of what the Mail app icon looks like.

The Mail app can be found on your home screen or in your App Library. It is a blue square with a white envelope in the center. To access it, all you have to do is tap on the icon.

It is important to know that when you first open up the Mail app on your iPhone it will be blank. This is because you must first add your account, which is our first lesson!
